Farland Story (SNES) (gamerip) (1995)

The composer(s) of this soundtrack really liked using a really airy sound font with reverb. This serves to create a solid and consistent mood. However, most tracks do not lean into this for their advantage. The songs that do utilize it well are and that I would recommend are Title and Valkyries' Island (and to a lesser extent Ending) but I found it somewhat blah in the other tracks. The instrumentation itself sounds like something you would here from an early Final Fantasy track and it is my suspicion that they were trying to imitate that. Anyway, the sound font is avoided altogether by some of the better tracks, which are Archfiend, Sword of Fersalia, Snow Field). Anyway, I would recommend any of the above tracks in bold. Overall, 8/10.
