Well, to be fair the Master System version was the original version, the System 16C was made and released in 2008 by M2 as part of Sega Ages Vol. 33 Fantasy Zone Complete Collection, this System E was released in 1988, a year after the release of the Master System version, so that's why it sounds very similar between the both versions (and the other reason is because the System E is basically an upgraded Master System).
