i had no idea! I always lamented the change from Gears 1 music to ultra-generic Zimmer stuff. I can't believe they actually recorded this and went "nah, too interesting." I love all the instruments used, and how they are used. It could have used more work, but it was a shame it was scrapped.
Th e official soundtrack is decent background music, appropriately "epic," and entirely forgettable, literally. I don't remember any of it except the main menu theme, just because it's the main menu theme. Maybe that's the intent, to make it less distracting.
