They're extra percussions that plays in tune with the music when you're in the lead during the race. This only happens in 100cc and above.

Basically it’s a little extra percussion added to the music when you’re in first place and significantly ahead. It makes some songs a lot catchier.

YOU F***ER!! I have never heard a more unpopular opinion in my life, I'm DISGUSTED that you think that way. I get it, people have opinions, but GEEZ. Do you have a screw loose or smthing?
edit: If you judge these courses by how they look in game, SHAME ON YOU. That's not fair to nintendo, even if they could've done better. These remixes are still just as good as the others, you should be lucky that we didn't get the original versions from their original consoles!

The way I did these rips was by ripping the wavs directly from the game, and then using a foobar extension to get resulting wav files that I seperate into seperate channels in audacity. If turning up the gain is resulting in clipping the game may add additional EQ or compression of some sort real-time in-game to further boost the volume, which would be very difficult to emulate. More likely is that the files are just not volume boosted to the limit and you may need to download them and boost them using software such as audacity.

There's no point having a FLAC if you're uploading them in mono, the youtube reuploads will sound better. Is it possible we could have the gamerips converted 1:1? I'm not very farmilair with the proprietary music storage format nintendo must use

I think the names were meant to say "3DS", but it seems that whenever there's a number at the beginning of a filename that number is moved to the track number instead
